Draft Timer

Since we haven't had a rookie draft yet, a lot of these are start-up-based rules. This one was pretty simple: how long should the draft timer be?

Result: Approved, 6-3-2-1

Buy-In Amount

This was a big conversation since we're finally transitioning into real jobs that make real money, and this is a 12-month fantasy league. So, a lot of work is involved, and we've always done $50 for our redraft and the first year of fantasy.

With that being said, we voted on whether the buy-in should remain $50 or double into $100, and (thank god), it was increased.

Result: Approved, 10-2

Trade Minimum

This was a new proposal that would require every manager to make one trade per season to ensure activity. The idea would make sure that past teams (Jason) don't sit there, kill their team, and then leave the league.

The punishment would be losing your next year's 4th-round pick, but in hindsight if a trade doesn't make sense for a team, they shouldn't be forced to trade.

Denny made 0 trades last year and went 12-2 and won the championship, so the logic behind this rule wouldn't fully make sense, since it's more focused on the bad teams than the good ones.

Result: Rejected, 7-5

IR Maximum

This proposal was focused on increasing the IR maximum from 2 to 5. The logic is that having such deep rosters, it was hard to only have 2 IR slots and then being forced to drop players that we were planning to hold onto because of injuries.

For example, if I were to have Bijan and MHJ both go on IR for 6 weeks, any other injuries I'd have to hold on to them or drop people on my bench I was investing in.

Result: Approved, 9-3

Remove TE Premium Scoring

This was more of a fill-in proposal since we don't really have any issues or problems and just wanted to make sure everyone was okay with the rules automatically in place.

This was proposed to remove TE Premium scoring (additional +.5 points per reception) and keep everyone at equal scoring. In redraft, we've always had TEP so I threw it in our dynasty as well. To no surprise, TEP stays.

Result: Rejected, 8-4

Andrew Luck Rule

The Andrew Luck Rule is going to be implemented without a vote, but with less power than initially discussed.

The rule protects teams from unexpected retirements. It's more designed for a retirement scenario, such as if Justin Jefferson were to retire, rather than Jordan Travis.

With that being said, the rules go as follows:
- The player must be under 30 years old.

- If the player finished the prior season Top 10 in their position, you'll receive a 2nd-round compensation pick. If they are 11-20, you'll receive a 3rd-round compensation pick. Anything outside of the top 20, no compensation and the player will enter the abyss.

This will begin in the 2025-26 season.
